Welcome to FJLC religious school. We look forward to another great year!
Our FJLC religious school (the Fierverker Jewish Learning Community) is designed to help children and their families build strong Jewish connections to our Torah, traditions, values, and community. We want our students to be proud of their Jewish heritage – and gain the foundation of knowledge they will need to live proud Jewish lives.
That’s why we have built our curriculum to include both traditional units, as well as experiential learning. Our goal is to prepare students with the baseline skills and knowledge they will need to feel confident and competent as Jews. Learning includes Hebrew literacy while building connections to Jewish tradition.
Below is more detail about learning for each age level:
Tots - Preschool, ages 1-6
Our tots programs are appropriate for Pre-K children, ages 1-6, and their
care-givers. Tots meet monthly on Sunday mornings, as well as in a monthly Tot Shabbat program. Our teacher, Miss Liz, is an experienced pre-school Jewish educator.
Miss Liz will be teaching the children:
- Jewish holidays and Shabbat
- Jewish songs
- Jewish crafts
- Jewish food
- Jewish fun

Kindergarten through 7th Grade
This year, Congregation Beth El will partner with Kol Emet for Grades K-7.
Schedule for Grades K-2:
Every other Tuesday from 4:45-6:45 PM at Kol Emet. Every Sunday from
9:00-11:30 AM at Beth El. We recommend that students attend both Tuesday and Sunday sessions.
Schedule Grades K-7:

- Holidays and Shabbat
- Jewish identity, history, community, literature
- Hebrew

- Sunday sessions will include:
- Holidays and Shabbat
- More intensive Hebrew
- Conservative prayer and lifecycle learning
- Torah
- History (Jewish and Israeli)
