This course traces the development of Conservative Judaism from its 19th origins to its contemporary formation, with special emphasis on ideas, religious norms, sociology and structures. Major inflection points of the past century will be studied as a foil for emerging challenges and opportunities facing this centrist movement.  (Meets on Virtual Beth El)
