FJLC Mitzvah Day 2024


Our Fierverker Jewish Learning Community Hebrew School offers rich, engaging, and fun Jewish educational experiences for children in Kindergarten through 12th grades. The goals of our programs are to bring our students closer to Judaism, provide them with a strong Jewish identity, and kindle a lifetime love of Jewish learning. We accomplish this through engaging experiences that foster a deep sense of Jewish community among the students and their families.

  • Students in Kindergarten, First and Second grades meet Sundays from
    9:00am to 12 noon  
  • Students in Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh grades meet every Sunday from 9:00am to 12 noon and Wednesdays from 4:30pm to 6:30pm

Students in Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, and Twelfth grades meet  2 Sundays a week  from 9am - 12 noon. 


About Our Program

We believe a broad Jewish education involves all members of the family. There are many opportunities throughout the year for our members to become involved in formal and informal family educational activities.

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL

The Religious School of the Fierverker Jewish Learning Community  has the opportunity to explore Judaism  connected to the participants' learning of holidays, mitzvot, tradition, Hebrew,  Torah and tefillah (prayer). 
In addition to our focus on Jewish values, The Religious School provides participants with rich experiences of Jewish tradition and culture.  Our program is designed to develop fluency in Hebrew reading as well as familiarity, comfort and a general understanding of Jewish liturgy.  

PRESCHOOL SUNDAYS

Preschool Sundays are for our youngest members and their families. It is open to children 1 year old through 5 years old. It is held once a month from 10:30am-12:00pm It incorporates song, play  and joyful exploration of Judaism for tots. There is also a Tot Shabbat held once a month for tots and their caregivers on Saturday that is followed by a kiddush lunch.

TEEN MITZVAH CLUB

Teen Mitzvah Club  is designed for 8th -12th graders and is held 2 Sundays a month from 9:00am - 12:00noon. 

Highlights include: 

  • Engaging format with opportunities for socialization through exciting classes, monthly breakfast, and experiential programming inlcuding field trips, social action, holiday activities and learning with the Rabbi.
  • On site and off site activities to engage teens to enhance their lives and provide fun activities as Jews
  • Is open to members of Congregation Beth El as well as other interested students in the surrounding community.
