1:00 PM - 2:00 PMTzafir Barzilay is a Kreitman postdoctoral research fellow at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. His interest is in the development of the common perceptions of Jews and Christians, and their change throughout the Middle Ages, in particular around the subject of water. Between 1348 and 1350, Jews throughout Europe were accused of having caused the spread of the Black Death by poisoning wells and other water sources. Tzafrir Barzilay explored the origins of well poisoning in his published book, Poisoned Wells.
