One Shul One Book

As part of our One Shul One Book program, we are pleased to announce that Congregation Beth El will now be reading Jeffrey Goldberg's book, Prisoners: A Muslim and a Jew Across the Middle East Divide.

Goldberg is the Washington correspondent for the New Yorker magazine and his book recounts his evolution through his suburban Long Island childhood, the idealistic zionism of his youth and immigration to Israel and finally his experience as a prison guard and the relationship he developed with an imprisoned Palestinian.

We will read the book individually and then come together following family services on Friday, April 13 to discuss it. The book is available in the synagogue lobby for $20.
